windell.jpgYou know Wendell, the delivery guy from the Miller ads? Well, I was watching an episode of Entourage this afternoon and would you believe which plump, jolly delivery man was dropping off a desk? None other than Windell Middlebrooks - the Miller High Life delivery guy.

Speaking of - this is probably the funniest of all of the Miller High Life delivery guy spots:
“Would you like to date a woman who smells like nuts? Uhm, cashews in particular.” Hilarious!

Your Champion… in the Blu Shorts

Monday, February 18th, 2008 by Fuzz

I bet Jed is glad that he bought a combo Blu Ray/HD-DVD player. All signs are pointing to Toshiba pulling the plug on its HD-DVD format.

Multiple users have written to tell us that Toshiba is planning to halt production of devices related to HD-DVD. According to Japanese broadcasting network NHK, Toshiba will lose “hundreds of millions of dollars” as the format war finally draws to a close. Regardless, investors are pleased that Toshiba has made the decision to cut its losses. This comes after a last-ditch price cut was unable to prevent Wal-mart from throwing their lot in with Blu-ray, although some sources suggest that Wal-mart was already aware of Toshiba’s plans to withdraw from fight.

Habit

I don’t get to watch a whole heck of a lot of television, but when I do it is usually something that I recorded earlier on my DVR (thank you, Charter)! Today, since it’s colder than a [expletive deleted] outside, I’ve had a couple hours to watch a movie on FX. Every time the commercials come on, I reach for the remote to fast forward. Whoops. :D

Classic Dennis Leary

Thursday, February 7th, 2008 by Claude

Holy crap this MTV commercial is old…but I remember it like yesterday.  Dennis Leary from 1992.  If you don’t know any of the bands he’s talking about, you are REALLY REALLY young.  (”Who are the Pogues and Jethro Tull?”) This video IS SAFE for work.

Lost: Season 4, Episode 1

Friday, February 1st, 2008 by Claude

That’s right, Lost came back like a sledgehammer to the brain…which means that you will have to sift past all of my Lost postings on FuzzMartin.com for at least 7 more weeks.  Bummer.

Here are some screencaps from last night’s episode.  Enjoy.

s4e1 opening

The opening shot…looks like we might be starting a pile of lemons/lime on The Island…turns out Hurley is running from the cops and smashes through the pile.

s4e1 aquarium

When Hurley is being interrogated by the cops…he looks into the 2-way-mirror and it becomes an aquarium-like underwater scene…someone swims up to the glass (probably Charlie?) and you can see what is written on his hand (a la Charlie in The Looking Glass Station in the season 3 finale).

 s4e1 Charlie Lives

Hurley gets sent to a mental hospital…and all of a sudden, guess who shows up?  Charlie…wait, he’s supposed to be dead?  What’s up with that?

s4e1 MisterE

Hurley gets a visit from someone claiming to be from Oceanic Airlines…when Hurley presses him for some ID, the guy starts asking him “are they alive?”.  Hurley geeks out and the guy leaves quietly.  Notice the chalkboard in the back.  Looks similar to the mural in the Swan Station (hatch).

That’s right boys and girls…Lost is FINALLY back.

Of course, it will probably be an abreviated season, with the writers strike, bummer…but sources claim that all 8 episodes that are “in the can” are knock-outs.

Be sure to tune in and find out how Jack and Kate (and ? others) got off the island.

Every Bit

Sunday, January 13th, 2008 by Fuzz

This morning, I was watching the Food Network. A few minutes ago, Nigella Lawson, of Nigella Express, said, “I’m starting off with a drink though, and it’s called a ‘pussyfoot.’ And trust me, it tastes every bit as good as it sounds.”

Uhm?

There’s a whole lotta creativity pent up in Hollywood right now. Here’s a funny video from a striking writer. Watch it. It’s hilarious!!!

Hollywood Writers’ Strike

Monday, November 5th, 2007 by Fuzz

Normally, I’m not the biggest fan of unions and their strong arm on industries. I do, however, support the writers’ strike in Hollywood. Networks get their fair share and are starting to make a ton more revenue by putting their shows on the internet. Why, then, should the writers get the same amount while the networks bank more and more off of the writers’ hard work and creativity. That isht ain’t right!
