First off…is MTV hosting a video music award show kind of ironic? Their programming schedule includes about 4 hours of videos all day.
On with this show…I missed the begining (Britney Spears giving a lack-luster comeback performance). This show was a grab-astic mess. I feel bad for the director who had to coordinate all of the crap going on with this show. Unlike the traditional show MTV hosts at Radio City Music Hall, this one was done at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. The show’s main room had these big round tables where nominees were seated (the tables also doubled as dancing platforms for performers). The weird thing was you couldn’t see anyone…and there were different hotel suites that had groups performing to smaller hotel-room-sized audiences. It was really weird and all over the place. It didn’t look like anyone was at the show, because of the format.
Lowlights…Miss Teen South Carolina attempting to parody herself by acting dumb (Again) by saying “U.S. Americans…The Iraq…” blah blah. Gym Class Heros winning Best New Artist…(These guys have stolen every hook from their “hit” songs from real hit songs. I would spit on these guys if I saw them in public…they are ruining classics)…Kid Rock and Tommy Lee fighting and Pam Anderson was there (are any of these people relevant anymore?)…Too much Yung Joc, T-Pain, T.I, et al. Even The Foo Fighters were boring.
Highlights I saw…50 Cent and Kanye West presenting an award together (does anyone else think their album launch “beef” was dreamed up by them to sell more records tomorrow?)…Linkin Park performing…Chris Brown doing an homage to Michael Jackson’s 1984 VMA performance dance to Billie Jean..and my favorite, Justin Timberlake (after having won an award) saying “I challenge MTV to start playing more videos”.
Amen Brother.Â

Okay… I really wish that I had the extra funds to go blow on a product that I don’t really need right now, because I would TOTALLY be hooking myself up with a new iPod Touch. Yeah… it’s an iPhone without the phone part. Of course, Apple just dropped the price on the iPhone by TWO-HUNDRED DOLLARS, so you can buy the smaller iPhone (4gb) for the same price as an 8gb iPhone iPod Touch ($299).
Apple also released a new iPod Nano, which now plays video. They’re fugly. That’s all I’m saying.
Go check out the afore mentioned for yourself.

Made specifically for the release of Halo 3, Mountain Dew Game Fuel is the best new flavor of Mountain Dew to come out in a while. I enjoy Livewire, MDX and all of the others (aside from Code Red), but Game Fuel is really great. And like Pitch Black 2 (came out 2 years ago for Halloween), Game Fuel will be gone shortly, so stock up while you can. It’s cherry-citrus goodness is just what you need for a long day of computer programming or Halo playing.Â
Speaking of which, anyone have an original XBox they want to part with?

As I sit here, outside at school, enjoying the sun and the breeze, I have decided that I want to find the person who declared that miniskirts were back in style, walk up to said person, slap him or her in the face, and say, “thank you.” They are such a double-edged sword. Some women look foine in them. The other 70%, however, make me wish I had eaten a lighter lunch. Eek!

I made a screen capture of this headline (BATTLE FOR NEW ORLEANS) from CNN.com 2 years ago during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina…I thought it was rather captivating. Digging through my images folder today, I thought it would be worth sharing.

There was only one show that I used to purchase on iTunes, and that was Scrubs. Now that NBC has decided not to renew their contract with Apple because of NBC’s desire to charge more, I am done buying TV shows (well, at least from NBC). The only reasons I purchased them on iTunes were that they were super easy to buy and they were relatively cheap ($1.99/show). NBC allegedly wants to charge $4.99 per episode, now. Mind you, these are shows that they don’t charge a dime for you to watch on network television (granted there are no advertisements on the downloaded episodes).
Greed kills.

World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE ) formerly the World Wrestling Federation ( WWF ), suspended 10 of it’s wrestlers yesterday for violating its Wellness Policy (steroid/drug violation). The names were revealed because of their links to Signature Pharmacy, advertising Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy on their website.
This list from pwtorch.com include:
-Adam Copeland (aka Edge )
-Robert Huffman (aka King Booker, aka Booker T )
-Shane Helms (aka The Hurricane )
-Mike Bucci (aka Hollywood Nova )
-Anthony Carelli (aka Santino Marella )
-John Hennigan (aka John Morrison, aka Johnny Nitro )
-Darren Matthews (aka William Regal )
-Ken Anderson ( Ken Kennedy, aka Mr. Kennedy )
-Chavo Guerrero Jr. (Nephew of Eddie Guerrero )
-Randy Orton
-Charlie Haas
ESPN also released a list of Signature Pharmacy customers, but with three additional names.
-Shoichi Funaki (aka Funaki )
-Dave Bautista (aka Batista )
-Chris Mordetsky (aka Chris Masters )
Some of these guys are were some big names in the WWE. Because of the fallout from the Chris Benoit murder/suicide, we can only imagine these guys were sacrificed to save the brand and hopefully the future of professional wrestling.

Of course Michael Vick is innocent until proven guilty, but because of his association with the scumbags who have already pled out in the dogfighting case against him, many people have sent their Michael Vick jerseys to the “Hot-lanta” ( Atlanta ) Humane Society. Hooray for those who are voicing their anger with this DB and his association with dogfighting.

Alright….I just finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Of course I don’t have the time to read, so I have listened to it on Audio-CD, which is a great alternative to listening to Top 40 music in the car on long trips!
The book was pretty good. I did like it better than some of the others (and some of the movies)…I guess the “end” of the Potter series was good. I was a little worried about the progress of the story because there was a very VERY slow part of the book where Harry and company are “journeying” around for some time…very slow, boring.
I do have to admit, I have had my fill of Wizengamots, horcruxes, patronuses, and all of the other terms and people that live within the Harry Potter Universe. I look forward to not paying much attention to it until my daughter is old enough to read the books.

Part of the appeal of getting a tattoo is that it is going to be there forever. If you want to remove it, you have to undergo painful laser treatments. Previously, the only other way around that would be to draw your tattoo on with a pen, and hope that nobody notices it running while you’re in the pool.
Until now…
There’s a new product that stores the ink in capsules under your skin. If you want to keep your tattoo forever, it will stay there… if you want to remove it, one laser treatment, instead of the numerous treatments that traditional ink takes, will remove that “juicy” tramp stamp.
I, for one, think it’s a great idea. I would never fork over the extra cash for that kind of ink, myself, but I’m always a fan of businesses giving their consumers choices. That’s what America is all about. Well, that and eating bratwurst in parking lots.

Lindsay Lohan must feel really bad that she spent all that money on rehab. She was arrested last night for DUI, driving on a suspended license, and possession of cocaine. Methinks she was just asking for help here. I mean, you don’t do all of that AND chase your friend down the highway if you are fresh out of rehab UNLESS you WANT to get arrested.
I hope she goes to jail (if she’s found guilty, of course).
