First Governor Jim Doyle was in bed with Potawatomis…
…now he’s in bed with the Trebeks.
Governor Jim Doyle will visit the set of Jeopardy! at the Kohl Center in Madison tomorrow, Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. The Governor will meet with the show’s host, Alex Trebek, and executive producer, Harry Freidman, and present a proclamation declaring it “Jeopardy! Days” in Wisconsin.
Elliot has a good point about the self-image of black men if a John McCain/Condoleezza Rice ticket beat Barack Obama for the presidency (and subsequently McCain were to succumb to his age). But my question is: what would the self-image of Democrats be if the first woman president AND the first black president… was a REPUBLICAN? Gasp!
Since the word, “recession,” is a technically specific one, we are not able to truly say that we are in a recession, just yet. The news media, really wants us to be, though. I have this odd hunch that there will be a bunch of guys in a news pool cheering, popping champagne, and slapping each other on the ass once we are finally official.
I’m no economist, but in order for us to just move on and start repairing the market, I propose that the fed chair, Ben Bernanke, hold a surprise press conference today declaring that we are officially in a recession.
The stock market will falter and the news guys will have their celebratory circle jerk, but at least we’ll be able to start rebuilding.
Of course, the reason for the media’s excitement for a “recession” is so that they can further whack each other off over how bad of a president Bush II is/was. If a Democrat is elected in November, I predict that the news media will be talking about an economic turnaround by March of next year. If McCain is elected, I am still willing to bet that he is greeted with a wet, yet not as tonguey, kiss.

This is poorly produced, but the concept is hilarious!!!
Haha!!!
The University of Wisconsin Board of Rejects University of Wisconsin Board of Regents discussed forcing “well-off families” to pay more for tuition than less-fortunate families, yesterday.
I’m concerned that this will actually encourage Wisconsin’s “well-off families” to gladly pay more tuition… to Stanford, MIT, or anywhere else on the east coast. This, of course, will lead to more kids from well-to-do families staying out east (or anywhere else, really), and therefore taking that money and talent out of our state.
But hey… at least we’ll keep our title as the most-socialist of all the states in the union.
In a personal letter from Barack Obama to vandal artist Shepard Fairey, Barack writes, “Your images have a profound effect on people, whether seen in a gallery or on a stop sign. I am privileged to be a part of your artwork and proud to have your support. I wish you continued success and creativity.”
Hat tip to Claude… who probably doesn’t think about it the same way that I do.
Okay, CNN must be running out of things to report. President Bush endorsed John McCain for the ‘08 election, today. Really? Is this news? That would be like saying that Randy Moss endorses Tom Brady. Same team, homies. Now there’s speculation as to whether or not the “endorsement” hurts or helps McCain.
President Bush endorsed Sen. John McCain for president on Wednesday, just hours after the Arizona Republican picked up the delegates needed to win the party’s nomination.
CNN.com readers were divided on whether Bush’s support would help or hurt McCain with voters.
Some said it was only natural that Bush would endorse the Republican nominee, and that it would be disrespectful for McCain not to accept it.
Ajit Kapil of Chicago, Illinois, wrote it “will help allay suspicion conservatives have about McCain.”
Other readers said that McCain should distance himself from the president and his policies and called the endorsement an “albatross,” and “the kiss of death.”
The media is really grasping at straws to dirty up McCain. I got news for you, big media conglomerates, McCain is the most boring candidate out there. You’re not going to find a whole lot. That’s good for the Republicans… but scary as hell for the media. They’ve made their living making fun of Bush’s ineptitude. What are they going to pick on McCain for? His war wounds? The fact that he’s not black or a woman?
I’m not saying I’m happy that we have McCain as our choice, but a candidate that doesn’t make a lot of waves is probably what the Republican Party needs right now.
…that Rush Limbaugh urging voters to vote for Hillary Clinton in the primaries is actually his attempt to get more Democrats to spite Rush and vote for Obama instead? I’m sure Hillary doesn’t welcome the endorsement.
Too friggin’ hilarious!
From WorldNet, via Rach, via Cassy Fiano:
Just when liberals thought it was safe to start identifying themselves as such, an acclaimed, veteran psychiatrist is making the case that the ideology motivating them is actually a mental disorder.
“Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded,” says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness.” “Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave.”
…
Rossiter says the kind of liberalism being displayed by the two major candidates for the Democratic Party presidential nomination can only be understood as a psychological disorder.
“A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity – as liberals do,” he says. “A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population – as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation’s citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state – as liberals do.”
Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:
creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization; satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation; augmenting primitive feelings of envy; rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government. “The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind,” he says. “When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious.”
(no, not my carpool buddy’s baby UGH!)
I’m working on something… we’ll see how much time I have to devote to it.
OMFG! (thanks Claude!!!)
Last night at about 9pm, when I finally got home from school, I had two messages on my answering machine.
Call 1: Campaign representative for Barack Obama
Call 2: Michele Obama (Barack’s wife) campaigning for Barack.
I’m guessing they won’t care about Wisconsin as much come November, but three calls from one candidate in approximately 24 hours is nuckin’ futz!
West Bend’s mayoral primary is today.
Their choices:
I’m thinking that Michael Christian is the least-worst choice in that race, but like the presidential primaries, there isn’t really a good choice.
I’m not voting today. If there was somebody I was passionate about, I’m sure that I’d certainly find the time to get back to May-town to vote. I’m not, however, going to put 50+ miles on my car, and take an hour of my day, to vote for John McCain, Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama. No way. No how.
