I made a small donation to the McCain/Palin campaign today. It was very small, actually, but hopefully it will buy a radio spot somewhere. Obama is advertising on my station right now, and I would like to hear the alternative perspective on the air, as well.

By the way, the Obama ad that is airing is a downright lie. A ’sportsman’ says that “Obama supports gun ownership.” Uhm. No.

Last night, we had dinner with Tracy Heron, the mayor of my 5,000+ town. If Governor Palin is anything like him - she’s more than qualified.

Perhaps Mayor Heron should run for governor.

Oprah has decided not to interview Sarah Palin because she doesn’t want her show to be used, “as a platform for any of the candidates.” Of course, she interviewed Barack Obama. From TMZ:

The item in today’s Drudge Report is categorically untrue. There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show. At the beginning of this Presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over.

This just convinces me even further that the Left is completely afraid of McCain’s choice for VP. I love it.

In a politics, campaign managers and PR reps will tell you it’s all about relating to people. Selling their candidate to you as a brand…as a general rule, people vote for the candidate who they connect with the best. The person they would want to sit around a listen to music and drink beer on a Friday night.

I’ve honestly been so out of touch with this election season that I haven’t really had any strong feelings one way or the other. I mean, I can’t stand Obama, but McCain is so all over the place that I don’t really trust him either.

So, for those of you who don’t really care about the election this year, here are some tips from The Onion on pretending like you actually give a shit about McCain or Obama. As always, the text that is on the screen during the video is just as funny as the characters.

A while ago, a man came up with a website called “Obama’s Chocolate Nuts.” He thought it was “nuts” that people were giddy over a man that they new nothing about. So, like any good American capitalist, he started selling something — chocolate covered peanuts graced with Obama’s likeness.

Enter Jesse Jackson.

The other day, Jackson said that Obama was “talking down” to black people, and that Jackson wanted to, “rip his nuts off.”

I went to the dentist today.

Thought I was getting a root canal, but that’s gonna be next Wednesday.

Today was just a cleaning.

I did get some gas, however, because I am scared.

Goes to show the difference between the parties. The Republicans would have accepted this woman to show the diversity of their party. Democrats fear that a woman with a scarf will bring out the “Hussein” in Barack Hussein Obama.

It’s the party of tolerance*, people.
