Favorite songs-John McCain & Barrack Obama (Blender Magazine)

Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 by Claude

In a politics, campaign managers and PR reps will tell you it’s all about relating to people. Selling their candidate to you as a brand…as a general rule, people vote for the candidate who they connect with the best. The person they would want to sit around a listen to music and drink beer on a Friday night.

In the attempts to further that message…Blender Magazine (a shell-brand for Maxim, who’s focus is all things music and getting young female artists to pose semi-nude on the cover) reports on Obama and McCain’s Top 10 favorite songs. The songs are listed below and I put in SeeqPod players below each list, so you can enjoy the music!

National Speed Limit idea = waste of time and money

Friday, July 4th, 2008 by Claude

Is this guy serious?  Imposing any type of speed limit to “save American’s money on fuel costs” is just stupid.  First, you can’t regulate what speed people travel at.  Second, more fuel is expended slowing and accelerating in rush-hour gridlock, not traveling at 75 down I-80 through Nebraska.

This guy is trying to make a name for himself, and idiot or attempting to divert the issue of rising fuel prices by finding ways to put the onus on drivers.

From CNN.com:

An influential Republican senator suggested Thursday that Congress might want to consider reimposing a national speed limit to save gasoline and possibly ease fuel prices.

Sen. John Warner has asked the Energy Department at what speeds vehicles would be most fuel efficient.

Sen. John Warner has asked the Energy Department at what speeds vehicles would be most fuel efficient.

Sen. John Warner, R-Virginia, asked Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman to look into what speed limit would provide optimum gasoline efficiency given current technology. He said he wants to know if the administration might support efforts in Congress to require a lower speed limit.

Lost Season 4 Finale

Friday, May 30th, 2008 by Claude

*SPOILER*
Sorry if you TiVo-ed it…but it happened last night so it’s fair game to blog about today…

I didn’t think the Frozen Donkey Wheel was as exciting as last years Rattlesnake in the Mailbox
but the Season 4 finale was pretty good…and leaves some good unanswered questions for the final 2 seasons of the show.

Here is a quick video which shows the 3 different endings shot for the finale.

On Notice: Bicyclists

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008 by Claude

My affinity for the Colbert Report is no secret. So, to honor Stephen and his great contributions to the world, I am implementing my own “On Notice” board on FuzzMartin.com (by Claude…not Fuzz).

On Notice: BicyclistsOn Notice: Bicyclists

These innocent, happy-go-lucky travelers are everywhere these days. With the increase in gas prices and the new stylish fashion statement of rolling up your pant leg, it’s no wonder their numbers have multiplied.

I have to give a big tisk-tisk to all bicyclists, as they want vehicles to “share the road” with them…but they will not yield to the more dominant transportation methods. In a natural selection of the roadways, bicyclists should know their place. I will share whatever room is leftover on the road when I come cruising by in my Lincoln Navigator while drinking my iced mocha-latte from McDonalds on my way to work (Starbucks is soooo March 2008).

Bicyclists, you have been put On Notice. Next time you breeze through that 4-way stop, don’t expect an out-of-court settlement when you find yourself looking up at my SUV’s undercarriage.

LifeLock Spokesman = Dumbass

Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 by Claude

Have you seen this ad on tv?  Where the spokesman for a company promising to save you from identity theft shows his Social Security Number on screen?

Funny thing is, the LifeLock’s service didn’t help the spokesman, who became a victim himself.  Whoops!  Guess you shouldn’t have given out your SS# on national TV.  Nothing like daring someone to steal your identity.  Sorta like daring Kevin Mitnick to hack into something.

Simple PlanI haven’t heard Addicted by Simple Plan for a while…until I heard it on the radio this morning.

Turn this one up in your car on the way home, scream it out the windows…it’s very cathartic.

My congratulations to Fuzz on his graduation!  I remember when Fuzz was just a guy who would crash at our Fraternity House every once in a while…then he joined…then I graduated and moved to Chicago…then he moved to Milwaukee…then I moved to Milwaukee…then I moved to Madison…then we became best of friends…then I moved to Minneapolis…then Fuzz graduated!

So here’s to you, Fuzz!  When I would DJ in college, I used to play this song and dedicate it to the Seniors and to the Freshmen.  I am guessing you have heard it both times!
