Firefox 3 Sucks
August 20th, 2008 by FuzzTagged as: firefox 3, sucktitude.
A few months ago, I downloaded Firefox 3 for all of the computers that I use on a daily basis. Now I am regretting that. It’s slow, buggy, and I honestly liked the old look more than I do this semi-new layout.
Any of you experiencing the same garbage?

No I’m not experiencing any of that. Do you have a lot of extensions? I have actully found it to be faster and more stable that FF 2

Mine seems to crash all the time and there are times that it will strip the CSS from pages and I end up with white pages full of garbage. Then I have to restart Firefox for it to work correctly.
I use a Mac, so I don’t know if it could be related to the Mac version specifically, or not. My dad said that he has the same problem.

What about extensions? Those can cause lots of issues. Can you reproduce the problem at certain sites?

Oh – I forgot to mention that the only extension that I am running is FxIF (for getting exif data from images).

I’ve been having trouble as well. It got worse after I tossed in some add-ons, so I’ll be taking some of those off later today. I have noticed an increased tendency to freeze up though, as well as difficulty loading pages. It took almost 2 minutes to get one picture loaded to my email, which is much longer than normal.

I agree with Fuzz. I’m a Mac user and am running into the same problems. No add-ons. Furthermore, Firefox will not save any of my private data that I want it to…. refuses to save passwords, etc., no matter what I tell it to do in the settings. Frustrating…
