Blogging From The Basement

For the second time in less than a week, I am in the basement of my house. As a kid, I always thought that Dodge County was Wisconsin’s version of Tornado Alley. In my three years here in Mayville, though, Saturday and today are the only two times that I have heard the tornado sirens going off. Racine and Kenosha seem to get the brunt of the storms, nowadays, but nobody has been safe in the last week or so.

Thank goodness for wireless internet. :)

I saw a tornado touch down in Dodge about 3 years ago on my way home from fishing… I called 911 and the NWS (I’m a spotter) and two mins later I heard the sirens.

I think I was on 33 just before Horicon or it was after, I don’t remember… I have heard of several reports from that area on my ham radio when I was active as a spotter.

Hope all is well there now Fuzz heard last night you guys got some nasties.
