In a Different Light

These are a few things that I see differently now than I did when I first went to college at age 17:

Before:
I judged women in class on whether or not I’d date them.

Now:
I judge people (men and women) on whether or not I’d hire them.

Before:
When an instructor preached about redistribution of wealth, I cheered with the rest of the kids.

Now:
I explain to as many people around me that they’ll have a change of opinion once they actually start paying taxes.

Before:
I looked forward to Thursday nights because those were the nights that we could party.

Now:
I look forward to Saturday nights because those are the nights I can usually get some sleep.

Before:
It was all about my social life.

Now:
What social life?

Before:
Go to bed at 3:30AM.

Now:
Wake up at 3:30AM.

Before:
Get pissed at that old guy in class who answers questions in class.

Now:
I can’t stand those lazy kids in class who refuse to answer a damn thing.

Before:
Didn’t mind squeaking by with a “C.”

Now:
If I got a C on an exam, I’d beat myself up to no end.

Twelve + years will change ya just a tad.
