Just messin’ around with my new reflector… I thought I’d play around in the basement shower. Haha…

    I’m with OOS!

    haha

    …this picture…is definitely scary.

  5. Fuzz Says:

    For the record:
    1) I was fully clothed.
    2) I seriously tagged this as, “I am a complete NERD,” right away, so I’m with OOS, too. :D
    3) I was bored with doing the same ______ object on white.

I DO have a photo shoot with an actual model this weekend, so hopefully I’ll get some good stuff… and I won’t have to stand in a running shower with lighting equipment near me. :D

  6. claude Says:

fully clothed for fuzz = loin cloth and tube socks

    :D

  7. claude Says:

    and a scuba mask

  8. Fuzz Says:

Just one tube sock… actually. ;)

  9. Shana Says:

    Oh, that’s so wrong. ;)

I have a picture question. I’ve been trying to take pictures of the things I’m selling, but everything is coming out green. I am not quite sure what the problem is though since it’s happening in different areas of lighting.

Is it possible for a memory stick to get weird after a while? We’ve had ours for a few years now, and it’s been more recently that my pictures haven’t been turning out. It’s getting to the point where I can’t even edit the bad color out of them. The other thing I’m wondering is, we have those lightbulbs that are the energy efficient ones, so I wonder if that could affect it?

    Thanks :)

I would check your camera, first. I would imagine it’s something with that…also, make sure you are taking pics at a high enough resolution.

  11. Fuzz Says:

    Shana,

Your white balance is off! The energy-efficient bulbs are actually better for your photos as they are usually closer to daylight temperature. You will run into problems if you have a mixture of both types of lights, though. Google your camera’s model number and “white balance” to figure out how to set it.

” . . play around in the basement shower”. I don’t want to know what that means. either.

  13. BD Says:

Shana — are you taking pictures of green things. This may be why they are green. Fuzz will come over with his loin cloth, one sock and mask on to fix the problem. He loves house calls. WARNING: Hide all women and children when he comes over!

  14. claude Says:

    @BD
It is a little cold out for him to be running around in only a loin cloth and tube sock…

I would be he would have a fluffy scarf about the neck, as well!

  15. Shana Says:

Okay, the loincloth is just bringing to mind all sorts of horrid thoughts, especially in this weather ;)

I’m taking pics of all sorts of different colors. It’s been just about everything lately that’s been turning green.

My camera is actually a camcorder with still pic capability. It hasn’t been a problem until recently.

I looked up the white balance thing, and apparently it’s automatic on my camera, so I can’t change it manually. I did find something in the menu that said NS Light, but I can’t seem to find what it is online. I’m going to try turning that off and see what happens. Who knows, maybe something got turned on that shouldn’t have or something.

  16. Shana Says:

Well, whatever that was, it seemed to help a little bit at least. I’ll fool around with it a little more. Any idea what NS Light is supposed to be?

  17. claude Says:

    @Shana

Yeah, I think you are using NIGHT SHOT.
Does everything look like a night-vision war film? If so, you want to turn that off.

  18. Shana Says:

Kind of, it has that sickening green hue. I turned it off which seemed to make a little difference, but then I found an exposure setting, which was turned all the way up, so when I started turning it down, the colors started coming back. I’m not really sure how these settings would have gotten changed since I’m pretty much the only person who uses this camera (and the kids aren’t allowed to touch it on pain of injury), so I’ll have to do some poking around in the other settings.

Unfortunately, after I figured out the exposure thing last night, the computer froze right after I put the card into the reader to see how well the changes took. So now, I can’t do anything until hubby gets home. :-||
