Beer Review: Jimmy Buffett’s Landshark Lager

Friday, August 31st, 2007 by Fuzz

Jimmy Buffett’s Landshark Lager BeerWhile I was in Las Vegas, we stayed at the Mirage. Just down the strip a little bit was one of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Restaurants/Bars. Outside there was a huge advertisement for Buffett’s new beer, Landshark Lager. I said that I wanted to go try one, and three other guys were down for one, too. Since I made the guys divert their plans for a few moments just so that I could try a new beer, I figured I’d follow man law and buy the round.

Four Landshark Lagers – $26. Yup. $6.50 a beer, and we weren’t even at a ballgame. But… I digress.

The beer was okay. Actually, it was pretty blah. I’m not saying it was terrible, but if I were Jimmy Buffett, I don’t know if I would want to slap my name all over it. That’s all I’m saying.

Keeping With That Heaven Theme

Friday, August 31st, 2007 by Fuzz

My back is all sorts of jacked up. It has been for about three weeks. I pulled something when I was lifting a speaker out of the work van and now I have a knot in my back about the size of a friggin’ walnut.

Today has been especially painful, so I decided to quit complaining about it (even though I am now) and go get myself a massage at In Excelsis Day Spa in West Bend. It was friggin’ awesome!!! I still hurt like a son-of-a-bitch, but at least now it’s a relaxed hurt? :D Anyway, if you can swing it, Michelle at IEDS kicks ass!

WWE Wrestlers suspended for steroid use

Friday, August 31st, 2007 by Claude

World Wrestling Entertainment ( WWE ) formerly the World Wrestling Federation ( WWF ), suspended 10 of it’s wrestlers yesterday for violating its Wellness Policy (steroid/drug violation). The names were revealed because of their links to Signature Pharmacy, advertising Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy on their website.

This list from pwtorch.com include:
-Adam Copeland (aka Edge )
-Robert Huffman (aka King Booker, aka Booker T )
-Shane Helms (aka The Hurricane )
-Mike Bucci (aka Hollywood Nova )
-Anthony Carelli (aka Santino Marella )
-John Hennigan (aka John Morrison, aka Johnny Nitro )
-Darren Matthews (aka William Regal )
-Ken Anderson ( Ken Kennedy, aka Mr. Kennedy )
-Chavo Guerrero Jr. (Nephew of Eddie Guerrero )
-Randy Orton
-Charlie Haas

ESPN also released a list of Signature Pharmacy customers, but with three additional names.

-Shoichi Funaki (aka Funaki )
-Dave Bautista (aka Batista )
-Chris Mordetsky (aka Chris Masters )

Some of these guys are were some big names in the WWE. Because of the fallout from the Chris Benoit murder/suicide, we can only imagine these guys were sacrificed to save the brand and hopefully the future of professional wrestling.

You’re So Busted

Thursday, August 30th, 2007 by Fuzz

So, I was making dinner for some friends yesterday (ahem!) and I brought over some good beer (Sam Adams Cream Stout). At some point, while I was stirring in the shrimp, I looked over and found a certain someone pouring some beer into the sink. I didn’t bring  it up to him that I saw him, but I was thinking, “dude…  you don’t HAVE to like it… just let a brother know.” Later, as I was leaving, I decided to see if he was actually pouring beer into the sink or to see if it was just an accident. I said, “hey, do you want me to leave this beer here, or should I take it home?” He said, “you know, I really don’t like cream beers.” That’s all I needed to know. I’ll give him points for trying to not make me feel bad about not liking my choice of beer, but I felt like roasting him for fun. :)

Summer’s Almost Over

Thursday, August 30th, 2007 by Fuzz

Tuesday marks the start of my second-to-last semester of undergraduate studies at UWM. I am pretty excited to get this semester underway. The classes I have to take don’t sound extremely interesting, but I’m sure that once I get rolling in them I’ll find a way to keep myself interested. Here’s the rundown of the awesome classes that I have:

  1. International Financial Managment
  2. International Business
  3. Marketing Research
  4. Consumer Behavior

I am actually kinda-sorta looking forward to the last two, but I’m not sure on the International Business classes. Initially, I was going to take the entrepreneurial classes  instead of the international classes, but they offer the entrepreneurial classes early in the day, and the International classes in the evening… so it was really the only thing that fit into my schedule.  I don’t really have to take either, but I figure if I can get a “certificate” out of it as well, it definitely won’t harm my resume.

My plan is to finish my BBA, stay in school and get my MBA, and then I may start my own advertising/marketing firm. That’s three years off, though, so we’ll see how life changes between now and my MBA graduation.

Energy Drink Reviews: Red Jak Lowcarb

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007 by Claude

Red Jak LowcarbThe first thing that attracted me to Red Jak Lowcarb is that the can is almost blank. The name isn’t plastered across it in graffiti or some ZANY character. Simple and designed nicely. I appreciate that.

For being a low-name/off-brand (Dr. Pepper/7up distributed) energy drink, Red Jack Lowcarb is really great. The flavor is a cherry-fruit punch-like…without all the sugary aftertaste. I believe that Fuzz has gotten me on the Low Carb Energy Drink kick! (It was his original recommendation of Monster Lo Carb that got me started).

If you can find Red Jak Lowcarb, buy a can!

Energy Drink Reviews: Mountain Dew Amp Overdrive

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007 by Claude

Amp OverdriveI just realized I have never reviewed Mountain Dew Amp…and here I am reviewing Mountain Dew Amp Overdrive. Bummer.

Amp is great, Overdrive is ok. The smell of Mountain Dew Amp Overdrive is similar to a cheap Shasta Cherry soda pop, thankfully the flavor is much more enjoyable than Shasta. It tastes like a regular Mountain Dew soda pop with less carbination and a mild cherry flavor. (*INTERJECTION: Try Mountain Dew Game Fuel, which has been released for a short time to coincide with the release of Halo 3, it is quite tasty!)

I wouldn’t say that I felt a rush of energy after drinking it, but I am sure I had been overcome with caffeine.

I recommend it, for the taste and easy drinkability!

We Just Don’t Get Along

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007 by Fuzz

Recently, I met a woman who is going to art school at UWM. Upon learning that, I told her that I, too, am going to UWM as a business student. She quipped, “oh, business school.” I asked, “what’s wrong with that?” She replied, “you don’t know? The art students don’t get along with the business students.” I asked her why they don’t get along, her response: “because you business students go to bed at 10… which is just about the time that our creativity starts working.” To which I replied, “so you’re saying that ‘we business types’ aren’t that creative, so ‘you artsy types’ don’t like us.” And she said, basically, “yup.”

I honestly thought high school was over.

Underdog & My Manipulator

Monday, August 27th, 2007 by Fuzz

This morning I received a txt message from my ex-wife informing me that my manipulative little girl woke up around 2-something in the morning and was so excited that daddy was taking her to see Underdog, the movie, today.

It was a cute movie.

Damn! I’m such a sucker for that little girl!!!

Today was the big Women for MACC “Shoot for a Cure” at the Hartford Gun Club. During practice I blasted 20/25 birds. Then it was showtime. Boom! 11/25. I suck under pressure sometimes. :( Better luck next year.

UPDATE: I don’t know why my comments were turned off on this post. Purely unintentional.
